iPad gets dedicated Google+ app

Google has now formally released the version of its Google+ app for the iPad. The latest update to the Google+ ios app boasts support for hangouts on iPhone and iPad and the new Google+ events feature for iPhone. Google promised a “hands-on experience” on the iPad. Earlier Google announced plans for a tablet- optimized version of Google+ at Google I/O. The android Google+ tablet app have already been released and now it’s iPad turn.

The Google+ iPad app was designed with the device in mind. New stream will feature posts based on popularity, type, and orientation. Pinch the expand posts and comment or use your fingers to easily drag and re-share an item. You can also start hangout from iPad and stream it to TV using Air Play. With this latest update you can now create and manage Google+ events from iPhone. Post a comment, upload your photo, or check out what’s going. Your past invitations are saved with all the photos and posts shared by your friends, so you can relieve the party anytime you want.

For some more informal hangouts, the update allows for a video chat which can be done with up to nine friends on the iphone and ipad at anytime. Turn on the ringing notifications so your friends get to join the hangout. If they miss your call they can ring back you with a single tap.
